Since its establishment in 1975, Sweden's Gothia World Cup Soccer Tournament has drawn over 730,000 youth participants from 124 different countries throughout the world. The Gothia World Cup is recognized as the world's largest youth soccer tournament, but this great competition is most proud of bringing together the youth of the world each year through the love of soccer. This summer, the U-17 Raiders Girls Soccer team has the incredible opportunity to represent thier community, state, and country in the 2008 Gothia World Cup Tournament. These girls represent communities from Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Lisle, Lombard, Warrenville, Wheaton, and Winfield. Many of these girls have been playing soccer since elementary school, and have devoted numerous hours to this sport. To play in this tournament is a dream come true.
