Jan Behounek of FGM Architects Elected President of the Chicago Building Congress
The Chicago Building Congress (CBC) announces the election of Jan Behounek as its new incoming President for the 2023-2025 year term. Ms. Behounek has been active in the organization since 2011, joining the Board of Directors in 2015 and elevated to vice president in 2018.
With Ms. Behounek’s passion for building relationships, her high priority initiatives for CBC are to:
- increase and diversify membership
- offer high-quality, relevant programming and,
- provide leadership development for young construction professionals.
Ms. Behounek is an Architect and currently a Principal and Vice President for FGM Architects. She was named director of the firm’s Higher Education practice in 2021. Prior to joining FGMA in 2019, Ms. Behounek was an Associate Principal at Holabird & Root. With over 27 years in the industry, she has worked on a rich variety of projects including higher education, science and tech, pk-12, municipal, corporate, and non-profits.
